Obituary

Alexondria Monique Zeigler entered into eternal rest on February 14, 2018. A gifted student throughout her earlier educational years, she attended Northside Magnet High School and graduated from Western Hills High School. She then attended and graduated with honors from the University of Texas in Austin where she majored in English and minored in History with the dream of becoming a teacher. She later completed her Master of Education degree from the University of Texas Arlington with plans to begin work on her PhD. She was a truly gifted and exceptional teacher who taught English in the Duncanville and Fort Worth Independent School Districts for over 20 years. Her passion for and influence from her teaching reflected many times over from the success and accomplishments of her former students, who often returned to thank her. She could not have been prouder. She received many honors, awards, and accolades throughout her teaching career, including Teacher of the Year, and repeated invitation for Literary Study at Oxford University in England, which she really loved. Besides English and Literature, she was passionate about History, especially the Holocaust. She worked every year at the Dallas Holocaust Museum as a Docent. Her passionate devotion to educate others on this time in History provided her with special opportunities not usually availed to someone outside of the community for which she was truly honored. When she was not teaching or volunteering, she loved to travel, garden, and sing. She had a beautiful voice that will be missed. This lifelong Longhorn, "Alex the Great", will now sing amongst the angels. She's survived by her parents, Thelma A. Zeigler (Fort Worth), Andrew J. Zeigler, Sr. (San Antonio); sister Andrea Z. Collier (Jesse); brothers Col. Andrew J. Zeigler, Jr. (Maria), and Adrian T. Zeigler; nephews Christopher, Adrian, Karem, and Kaelen Zeigler; nieces Brittany Peebles (Seth) and Melyssa Wade; Grandnephew, Aiden Murphey, her "Tubby"; and a host of extended family and friends. Service is scheduled for Thursday, February 22, 2018, at 2 p.m. at St. Christopher Episcopal Church, 3550 SW Loop 820, Fort Worth, TX 76133.
