Arlene Nan "Whitworth" Morgan died peacefully on November 24, 2023.
She was born on October 6, 1936 in Henderson, Texas to Bill and Irma Whitworth. Arlene and her twin sister, Marlene, graduated from Paschal High School in 1954. She was a loyal employee of Prichard & Abbot, Inc., retiring after 52 years. She was feisty, tart, sweet and generous all bundled into one. Prior to becoming a wife and mother, Arlene planned on becoming a Home Economics teacher; she was a wonderful cook, loved to bake, and sewed outfits for her girls. She loved to read Christian romance novels, watch Hallmark movies, play card games, and most definitely watch the Game Show Network. She also loved going to Southern Gospel Concerts, especially seeing the Gaithers & Ernie Haase.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill & Irma Whitworth; son, Tommy May; sister, Betty Juan Turpin; brother-in-law, LaRue Sanderson; and her beloved dogs, Chico, and Toby.
She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Hampton (Phil) & Sherry Pelt (Wes Partin); her twin sister, Marlene Sanderson; 4 grandchildren, James Bryant (Angie), Blake Hampton (Amy), Doug Pelt (Jennifer) and Michelle Bivins (Ricky); 5 great grandchildren, Matthew Bivins, Haven Pelt, Serenity Bivins, Thomas Hampton and Ricky Lee Bivins, Jr; one great-great granddaughter, Ivie Bivins; nephew, Jeff Sanderson; nieces, Celia Scharnhorst (Bruce), and Tracie Ramirez (Todd).
