Catherine Hammerich Legate, 83, passed away January 27, 2020. Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX. Cathy Legate went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2020. She was born January 9, 1937 in Dallas, Texas and a resident of Houston for about 65 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Baylor University with a double major in English and History. As a Peabody Fellowship recipient, she received her Masters of Art in English from Peabody College, Vanderbilt University. After teaching school for one year she became a part of the family business, Meinhard Galleries. She served as art conservator for twenty years and director for ten years. For many years her joy was teaching the Bible to young children. She is survived by her husband, Herb Legate, two children Bryan Legate and Laura Legate Jageman and her husband Roy Jageman and grandaughters, Rachel Lorraine Jageman and Nancy Catherine Jageman.
