Curtis Emory Bullock, affectionately known as Papa, Woody, Curtis, and Sonny, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026, at the age of 80, after years of battling health conditions.

Born in Sherman, Texas, Curtis spent most of his life in Arlington, Texas, where he built a life centered around his family, his career, and the people he loved.

Curtis was a hardworking, generous, and loyal man. He was known for being loving, helpful, and funny, and for always staying true to himself. He had a wealth of medical knowledge that many people admired and relied upon. However, above all, he was known for his love of family. He was someone people could look up to, depend on, and turn to whenever they needed help or advice.

Curtis proudly served in the United States Army, demonstrating the same dedication, strength, and loyalty that he carried throughout his life. If anyone ever questioned just how loyal Curtis could be, they only had to look at his unwavering love for the Dallas Cowboys. Win or lose, season after season, Curtis remained faithful, proof that his loyalty truly knew no bounds.

Curtis began his career as an insurance adjuster, working in that field for five years before becoming a sales representative for Kraft Foods. He later entered the pharmaceutical industry, where he spent 40 years and eventually became a pharmaceutical sales manager. After retiring from pharmaceutical sales, Curtis continued working as a security manager until health reasons forced him to retire.

Outside of work, Curtis enjoyed fishing, going to the range, watching football, and most of all spending time with his family. His family was his greatest source of joy, and the love he had for them was evident in everything he did.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Bullock Sr. and Bernice Trent Matthews; his stepfather, Frank Matthews; his brother, Bob Carter; and his sister, Pearl Rice.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Charlene Bullock; his son, Christopher Bullock and his wife, Tina Bullock; his stepdaughters, Brandy Grohall and her husband Chad Grohall; Jessica Grant and her husband Kevin Bradlee Grant; and Danielle Evans; and his grandchildren, Carson, Angelina, and Aubreyann Bullock; Ian Evans; Carly Grohall; McKenzie and Michelle Buser; Maddox Burgess; Kevin Maverick Grant; and BellaMai Evans.

Curtis leaves behind more than memories. He leaves behind a family who was deeply loved, a lifetime of people who respected him, and countless lives he touched along the way. He was the kind of man people remembered, looked up to, and were grateful to have known.

He will be deeply missed, but his love, humor, wisdom, loyalty, and the example he set will live on through the family and friends who loved him.

Curtis was deeply loved, greatly respected, fiercely loyal, and will never be forgotten.
