Obituary

Delphia Paralea Dillaha, 92, of Burleson, Texas, passed away on September 14, 2026.

Delphia was born on July 1, 1934, in Mount Vernon, Arkansas, to Roy Hayden Thompson and Ruth Eleanor Harrison.

Delphia dedicated many years of her career to Tarrant County College, where she worked in the Registrar’s Office until her retirement in 1999. Throughout her life, she had a generous spirit and enjoyed giving her time to others. She was especially active in the deaf community, where she volunteered her time and formed meaningful connections through her service.

In her free time, Delphia enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, and traveling. She treasured the experiences and memories she made along the way, but above all, her family remained an important part of her life.

Delphia was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Alton Roe Dillaha; daughters, Ruth Marie Dillaha, Katherine Chantara; sisters, Geraldine, Wyoma, and Juanita; brothers, Charles, and Harrison; granddaughter, Michelle Meador.

She is survived by her daughter, Nerissa Miller and husband, Virgel; son, David Dillaha and wife, Christy; grandchildren, Allen, Jonathan, Stephanie, Charissa, Josh, Chasdin, Sheldon, and Sherayah; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
