Ed was born Eddie Carl Talley on September 12th, 1940, in Drumright Oklahoma.
Ed Talley passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 18, 2025 at the age of 84, following an over year-long battle with cancer.
Ed is predeceased by his wife of 29 years, Betty Talley and his parents, Bill and Lorene Talley.
He is also survived by his children, Edward Talley and his wife Kim of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, Mark Talley and his wife Loree of Rhome, Texas; and their mother, Martha Burk; brother, Donny Talley and sister-in-law Sandra Talley of Pearland, Texas; stepchildren, Greg Vance of Grapevine, Texas, Tammie Stephens and her husband Dale of Houston, Texas, and Michael Vance and his wife Litza of Grapevine, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was beloved "Papaw" to his ten Grandchildren, Casey Talley, Jake McMackin, Holly McMackin, Ashtyn Talley, Emilee Talley, Lindsey Vance, Meagan Stephens, Richelle Parker and Matthew and Sophia Vance. He also has two Great Grandchildren, Liam Talley & Emmit McMackin.
Ed had an over forty-five-year career as a licensed Pharmacist with an independent practice. He also had multiple other successful business ventures in his distinguished work career.
In his retirement, Ed loved playing golf, hunting, singing Karaoke, and traveling around the country with Betty, family and friends in their RV. He also enjoyed spending free time with friends and family. He loved and was very proud of his grandkids, fully supporting as many activities as he could attend.
Ed was a proud member of the Elks organization for over 62 years! He dedicated himself to the service of others and was a mentor to many people. Over the years, Ed served many positions in the Elks organization including Exalted Ruler. He cared very deeply for his Elk family.
Ed was a kind and caring person who always tried to lift his fellow man and set a good example for his friends and family. He will be missed by us all.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Grapevine Elks Lodge.
Celebration of Life is on Saturday March, 29th at the Grapevine Elks Lodge from 2-5 PM.
