Elisabetha Dosch Welcing passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 7, 2026. She was known as Lisbet to her German family and friends, and Elisabeth or Liz to her American family and friends. She was born in Rengershausen/Kreis Mergentheim, Germany on March 14, 1931. She grew up in Wertheim am Main, a beautiful medieval town in Germany where the Main River and the Tauber River come together. It was on the Army Post in Wertheim where she met her future husband, Arthur Welcing. They married and ultimately came to the U.S. upon his reassignment to Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. Together they raised a family of two boys and three girls. As a career army family, they travelled many places. Ultimately, they settled in El Paso upon retirement from active service.

Elisabeth is predeceased by her husband, Arthur Welcing and her youngest son, Gregory Welcing. She is survived by her remaining children, Fritz Häckel; Christian Welcing and his wife Donna; Dorothea Winston and her husband Scott; Martina Murray and her husband Leonard; Barbara Tindula and her husband Stephen; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 11:00 am, in the chapel at Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home at 6009 Wedgewood Drive, Ft. Worth, TX 76133.
