Obituary

Evelyn Jeanette Frizzell, 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2026 in Fort Worth, Texas. Born on June 20, 1931 in Depew, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Chris Geiser and Margaret Worsham Geiser.

After graduating from Drumright High School, she married her high school sweetheart John William (Bill) Frizzell on September 7, 1952. They raised their four children in Texas City, TX … then Cincinnati, OH for a couple of years before returning to Texas and settling in Dickinson. Their family life revolved around music with everyone playing the guitar or piano. Vacations were spent camping with family friends as well as visiting relatives in Oklahoma and Colorado.

Evelyn enjoyed reading, music, genealogy and loved the color blue.

She played the piano and organ and occasionally filled in for the church organist.

She participated in numerous church choirs … singing as well as directing the choir.

Ev was a stay-at-home mom while their children were younger but later worked several years as the librarian at the Dickinson Public Library.

Ev and Bill eventually migrated to the New Braunfels area where they joined a special network of longtime friends from their earlier years in Texas City. They enjoyed spending time together attending football games, playing guitars, traveling and just hanging out on the Guadalupe River.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Ernest Chris Geiser and Margaret Worsham Geiser, husband John William (Bill) Frizzell and sons Wes Frizzell and Ross Frizzell.

She is survived by her son Chris Frizzell of Alvarado and daughter Jan Frizzell and wife Janis Cogswell of Fort Worth.

A very special thanks to all of her wonderful caregivers during the past 2-3 years, including those from Enhabit Hospice, Home Instead and Garden Terrace Nursing Home.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date in New Braunfels.
