George Slusher, a long-time resident of Queens, New York, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at the age of 83.
George was born on May 17, 1937 to Walter Slusher and Candelaria Brown, in Belize City, Belize (Central America). As a kid, he attended St. John's school and was also a member of the Belize Military Home Guard where he helped protect the country and played the trumpet in the military band.
He then married his teenage sweetheart (Flora), in 1957 and they started a family. Together, they welcomed 4 sons and 3 daughters. In 1968, he migrated to the U.S., first to Chicago, IL where his mother and siblings resided, then to New York, where he tried his hand at the American dream. He went to Trade School for Auto Mechanics and his professional career consisted of Security and the Auto mechanic industry. In his past-time, he enjoyed fixing cars, listening to music, watching old westerns, and hanging out with his buddies in Brooklyn, NY.
He is survived by his wife and 7 kids (Edward, George Michael, Stephen, Sherman, Gayon, Lesa and Deborah); a sister (Alice); brother (Norman); and a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
