It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jeffrey (Jeff) Alan Moses on July 12, 2026, at the age of 71. Jeff was born and raised in the Permian Basin, having lived most of his life in Midland, Texas. He lived a life marked by laughter, compassion, and fierce devotion to his family and friends.
Deeply inspired by the lessons and morals passed down to him by his parents, Jeff strived to live his life with integrity and fierce loyalty to all - particularly those he loved. He also extended his big heart to complete strangers and wayward animals be it dog, cat, bird, lizard, or bug, and particularly turtles. He had a special way of making any person he talked to feel important and seen, without any judgement or pretense.
Jeff was quite the talker and negotiator - and he used this gift through his long career as a landman. Many of the people he did business with became lifelong friends; a true testament to his genuine integrity and authenticity.
Jeff was a lifelong athlete (his “resume” of golf achievements - courtesy of the man himself - is available upon request) and adventurer. Although his proficiency in golf was his greatest accomplishment outside of family, he did many other things in life - he was a pilot (gliders, single engine planes and later time in a Southwest Airlines simulator which he would tell the cockpit every time he boarded), avidly raced go karts with his friends, engineered and fixed various appliances and motorized devices in ways only he could, and saw and planned further exploring the world with his beloved wife up until the day he passed.
Of all his accomplishments and adventures, Jeff prided himself most on his unwavering commitment to his family. He was truly a special and incredible father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and lifelong friend.
He is preceded in death by his father and best friend, Thomas Edwin (Ed) Moses as well as the best dog, Oliver.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth Moses; his daughter and “Pumpkin” Dr. Michelle Moses; mother, Beverly June Moses; brothers, Steven Moses and Michael Moses; sisters-in-law, Judy and Lynann; and nieces and nephews Matthew, Caroline, Riley and Miranda. Jeff also formed a special bond with Elizabeth’s family and was always known as the “cool” uncle.
Memorial Service & Celebration of Jeff’s life: 3:00 p.m. August 29, 2026, Ridglea Country Club, 3700 Bernie Anderson Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76116.
