Jessie Louise Jenkins, 105, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on June 9, 2023 in Fort Worth.

Jessie was born in Toledo, Ohio to Leigh Bender and Anna (Sullivan) Bender on November 22, 1917. She graduated from high school in Toledo in 1936. After graduation she moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she ran a boatyard before and during World War II. Following the war, she married Merlin Earnest Jenkins and moved to Texas (Denton, Haskell, and Abilene), to start a family. Following a move to Fort Worth in 1966 she was active in the TCU Faculty Women's Club.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Jenkins.

Jessie is survived by son, David Jenkins of Dallas; daughter, Valerie Johnston and son-in-law Richard Johnston of Fort Worth; granddaughters, Angie Johnston of Natick, Massachusetts, Claire Jenkins of Eugene, Oregon.
