Joyce was born in Paris, Texas, March 7, 1934. She graduated from Paris High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from East Texas State in Commerce, Texas. She then taught tennis and English at Wichita Falls High School.

She attended First Baptist Church in Wichita Falls where she met Robert Philip ("Phil") Love who was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base. They married on June 7, 1966 and shortly after moved to Bangkok, Thailand, where Phil worked in communications during the Vietnam War and Joyce taught English at the Baptist Student Union.

After returning from Thailand, they were stationed in Washington, D.C. for 13 years, where they had 2 daughters, Nancy and Linda. Joyce focused on being a mom and was fully involved in her daughter's activities. After a brief stint in Oklahoma, Phil and Joyce moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where they made their forever home.

Joyce was a devout Christian and led a life of service to her God, family and friends. She was a proud charter member of Agape Baptist Church with her husband, Phil. She served the within the church by providing meals, visiting members weekly and helping wherever she could.

In her lifetime she taught children's choir, worked with various mission projects, and directed crafts at a deaf retirement home. She loved sports (playing tennis and golf when she was young and being a vocal spectator of all sports later in life). She volunteered at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame as their auction chairperson for their annual fundraiser for many years.

Above all she was a strong and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was the foundation of the family. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Love Klinkenberg and her husband, Gus, Linda Love Fisher and her husband, Drew; grandchildren Bethany Klinkenberg, Dillon Fisher and Laura Fisher.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Robert Philip ("Phil") Love, her parents David and Mary Geer and her brother, William ("Bill") Geer who she always called "Brother."
