Obituary

Juanita "Nita" Head died Sunday, April 24, 2016, at a local hospice at the age of 92. Service: 10 a.m. Saturday at Southside Church of Christ, 2101 Hemphill St., Fort Worth, where Nita and Lawrence were faithful members for 25 years. Interment: Bethany Rest Cemetery, four miles west of Alvarado on County Road 810. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home, 6009 Wedgwood Drive, Fort Worth. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southside Church of Christ, Food and Clothing Pantry, 2101 Hemphill St., Fort Worth, Texas 76110. Juanita was born in Bono to Isham G Kennon and Ora Lee Williamson Kennon. Both where educators and I.G. served as the Johnson County Supervisor of Rural Schools for many years. When she was a young child, her family moved to Cleburne and later to a farm four miles west of Cleburne on the Godley Highway. Juanita attended Cleburne schools where she played clarinet in the award-winning band. She was FFA Sweetheart and president of her senior class, graduating in 1941. Juanita also graduated from the University of Texas in 1946. She married Lt. Charles Pou, and they raised five children. Juanita retired from the Texas Rehabilitation Commission. In 1985 she married Lawrence Head and lived their final 30 years together in peace and joy; traveling, cruising, and dancing in the comfort of one another's arms. Juanita was preceded in death by her previous husbands, Charles Pou and Nicolas Kouretas. She also buried her fifth child, Teresa Clair Pou, in the Benbrook Cemetery. She was also preceded in death by a brother, I.G Kennon Jr. and his wife, Frances, both of whom are buried in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Survivors: Loving husband, Lawrence Head; children, daughters, Darryl Pou Badget and husband, James "Jim," Patti Lisa Eubanks and husband, Ronald, sons, Charles Gavin Pou and wife, Randy, Wendell Chouncey Pou and wife, Elizabeth "Chick"; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; Juanita will also be remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of extended family.
