Obituary

Judith Love Johnston McLaughlin passed away on Nov. 7, 2021, surrounded by her husband of 53 years, Royce, two sons, Courtney & JR, and best friends, Aileen McGrath-Brown and Connie Skinner. In 1962, Judy moved to Ft. Worth with her parents, Maj. John E. Johnston (Ozella), retired from the US Airforce. She attended R.L. Paschal high school for her senior year and North Texas State University after that graduating with a BBA and Minor in Math. In 1967, Judy started her lifelong career in real estate. In their 53 years of marriage, Judy supported Royce during his time in the Air Force and then together they owned an insurance brokerage business, real estate business, toy stores and were passionate supporters of Meals On Wheels and numerous other charities and missions. Judy and Royce taught 5th Grade Sunday School for 10 years and then Judy led an adult Sunday School Class and a women's Bible Study until October of 2020. She was an avid student of the Bible and Bible History. Her lessons were incredibly detailed and were presented in a most captivating format. She hooked you in and then led you through the lesson and relevant history all together. Judy is preceded in death by her parents; sister & brother-in-law Elizabeth & Robert Hickerson; dear friend Terry McGrath; numerous aunts and uncles. Survivors: Husband, Royce and their son, Courtney and his husband, Alun, and their children, Elle, Heather, David; son, John Ryan (JR) and his daughters Claire & Jenna and their mother, Christy (who is like a daughter). She is also survived by nephew, John A. Hickerson; brother-in-law, Edward & his wife Shannon and their children Dallas, David and Annalisa and their families. In addition to many much-loved cousins and extended family ("blood and non-blood" as the Love Family is want to say), Judy was blessed with an amazing circle of girlfriends that grieve her passing dearly. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Judy's memory to Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County https://mealsonwheels.org/donate or to Arborlawn United Methodist Church www.arborlawnumc.org/giving.
