Kerry Barnard Dunigan found shelter in different places at varying stages of his life. As a youth, Kerry enjoyed backyard baseball, Summer book reports, and swimming. He was raised by his mother, Sally Barnard Baldwin, his grandmothers, and was influenced by his Uncle Sam and Aunt Anne in East Texas.

He was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on June 30, 1951, and lived most of his life there, with short times out of state. He finished high school in Gila Bend, Arizona, while living with his father, William E. Dunigan. Kerry lived in Adak, Alaska during his service in the Navy. After 3 years in the Navy, he returned to Fort Worth and lived with his twin brother, Kelly, and their mother for many years.

Kerry lived quietly, was a voracious reader, and lover of good food. He often spent time with his sister, Colleen, and her husband, Rob Black-Dunigan.

Kerry was preceded in death by his mother, father, and sister. He is survived by his brothers, Kelly and Clancy, and his cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

After suffering a stroke in 2016, he lived at the Courtyards at River Park Assisted Living in Fort Worth. The staff there became his friends, and they accompanied him for over 3 years. They laughed and told stories together while Kerry's health declined. Kerry died quietly at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth on September 17, 2019.

He was a good brother in a troubled world.
