Leon H Wheeler, 92, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 17, 2023, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was born in Beekmantown, New York, to Leon and Grace Wheeler.

A Korean War veteran, Leon joined the U.S. Air Force at 17 years old. He worked most of his adult career as a Ship Supervisor at General Dynamics Electric Boat, in Groton, CT. He lived in New York and Connecticut most of his life then enjoyed his retirement in both Lakeland, Florida, and Fort Worth, Texas. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and New York Giants football.

Leon is survived by his four daughters, Martha Staron, Kathy Wheeler, Margaret Bergmann, and Beth Sullivan; three sons, Patrick, Michael, and Kevin Wheeler; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

Leon was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Catherine Wheeler; his parents; and three sisters, Ines LaGoy, Alda Brunell, and Geraldine Gagnier.

A Mass will be held at St Patrick's Cathedral in Norwich, CT, on June 3, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., following the Mass will be an interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery. A celebration of life for both Leon and Catherine will be at the Knights of Columbus in Taftville, CT, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
