Marilyn Jeannine (Willis) Smith passed away peacefully on April 29, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 89. She was born on January 19, 1935, to Leo and Lucille Willis, and was the oldest of 5 children.

Marilyn grew up in Brownfield, Texas and graduated from Brownfield High School in 1953. She met her future husband, Martell Smith, in Lubbock, Texas (married in 1958) and lived in Lubbock most of her life. She was a member at Sunset Church of Christ.

Marilyn enjoyed having family get togethers, reading, and playing duplicate bridge. She will be remembered for her loving devotion to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters Pamela Thomas (Layne) and Patricia Simpson (Jack); son Steven Smith (Lerii); daughter-in-law Karen Smith; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and brother Kenneth Willis. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 34 years, Martell Smith; son, Richard Alan Smith; and brothers, L.G. Willis, Leon Willis, and Larry Willis.
