Neva Jo Bowles went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 21, 2021, at the age of 96. Neva was born March 21, 1925, in Cleburne, Texas to her parents Lonnie C "Buck" Bowles and Ora May Junkin Bowles. She grew up in Cleburne and attended Cleburne public schools. After graduating from high school, she began a long and rewarding career with Montgomery Ward as a supervisor for the computer operators, where she eventually retired in 1987. Neva loved to travel and took many trips around the world, including several trips to Europe, Mexico, and across the United States. One of her favorite memories was an Alaskan cruise with close friends. She was also an avid gardener and was renowned for her prized tomatoes. She enjoyed cooking, genealogy, and caring for her dogs. Neva was a long-time member of Altamesa Church of Christ in Fort Worth, attending regularly until her health no longer allowed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Ora May Bowles, and her sister, Katherine Bowles Johnson. She leaves behind her nephews, Larry Steve Johnson, and David Glenn Johnson, as well as a large host of friends, including her close friend and longtime roommate Lou Pettigrew. A Visitation will be held at Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home on Friday, August 27, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. followed by a Graveside Service at Rosehill Cemetery, Cleburne on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.
