Haltom City – Oliver L. Gunnels, Sr. 85, of Haltom City passed away peacefully Friday, March 26, 2021 at home. Oliver was born November 4, 1935 in Roanoke, Texas and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth. Oliver retired from Rattikin Title Company where he worked for over 40 years. He took great pride in the services he provided and in helping others in need. He was a generous, loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His love for his family was his greatest gift to those he leaves behind. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones. The family would like to thank Community Hospice of Fort Worth for their care and compassion. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and by the love of his life, his wife of 65 years, Virginia Gunnels. Oliver is survived by his daughters, Deborah Gunnels, Kathy Summers and husband Philip, son Oliver Gunnels, Jr., and his beloved grandchildren Chandler, Megan and Paige Summers, Zoie Gunnels and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends. A private graveside service was held at Mount Olivet.
