Robert C. "Bob" Vogel completed his life's journey in his 91st year on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Bob was a retired aeronautical engineer. He was a parachuter for the Apollo Program. He designed the parachute containers that returned the astronauts safely to Earth. His work was largely classified, working on many sophisticated projects. He was the senior research designer for Bell Helicopter. Bob was a superb snow skier. In his younger years, he rode motorcycles in the desert. Bob was also active in community affairs. He was a member of the City Council in Hurst, Texas and then served on the Planning and Zoning Commission in Hurst. Bob is survived by his wife, Mignon Vogel; and his nephew, John Vogel.
