Former Grapevine Texas resident Robert J. Zielinski, 74, died on Jun 27, 2020, at his current residence in Irving, Texas. At his request, no formal service will be heldin Texas. Mr. Zielinski was born August 18, 1945, in Elizabeth,New Jersey, to Stanley Zielinski and Stella (Mandela) Zielinski.Bob was a highly valued, pioneering, mainframe computer software engineer at IBM and at Citibank. He worked on legacy IBM systems such as CICSand (the then) emerging technologies of TCP/IP communications. These are foundations of today's internet technologies. Mr. Zielinski served in the United State Air Force, during Vietnam as a computer operator.He spent more than 30 years in the D/FW Texas area. He was a member of the Grapevine VFW and the Grapevine AMBUCS organization. He is survived by his brother Edward (Ann) Zielinski and sister Patricia (John) Covino of New Jersey and 12 nieces and nephews.
