Roddy Raymond Schrank 63, of Weatherford, TX peacefully passed away in Harris hospital in Fort Worth, TX on August 18th, 2026, with his daughter and sister by his side.

He fought a graceful battle with cancer for over two years showing strength and dignity, while being admired by his family.

He was born on January 23,1963 in Midland, TX. Shortly after to move to his mother's hometown of Mineral Wells, TX. There he was raised lovingly by his parents Madeline and David Schrank in a home of faith. He attended Indian Creek Baptist Church where his grandmother Mabel Whatley often played piano while his mother would beautifully sing.

Roddy was the middle child with his surviving older sister Mechael Miller of Ohio, and his younger sister Kelli Harris of Mineral Wells, TX. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Meagan, and Tyler Whitaker along with grandchildren Emry Galloway and Oaklynn Whitaker of Weatherford, TX. He is also survived by his father David Schrank of Mineral Wells, TX. His mother Madeline Schrank preceded him in death many years back.

Roddy was the jokester uncle to Colby McDonald and loved his role. Especially during Easter and Halloween where he was involved with his daughter and nephew every year of their childhood.

Roddy had a long career in sales with companies such as Phillips Welding Supply in Weatherford, TX, Allstate Industries, and Wells Fargo Bank. He graduated high school in 1981 and went to DeVry where he enjoyed becoming an independent strong minded young adult.

He was married for 22 years to Melissa Smith and remained cordial friends in the years following their marriage.

The family would like to thank everyone who has extended their condolences and reached out during this time of grieving. Their hearts have been truly touched by many of his friends.

Roddy was one of a kind with his brutal honesty, humor, and full-on belly laughs. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family has decided to have a private graveside service at some point in the near future.
