Russell Thomas Elkin, Jr., passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. Service: 11 am Monday, Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home, 6009 Wedgwood Dr., Ft. Worth. Visitation: 2 pm - 4 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Russell was born on November 21, 1922 in Somerville, PA to Russell and Camie Elkin. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII. Russell married Dorothy Elkin in 1942, they have been married for over 73 years. Russell enjoyed woodworking and playing golf. He helped establish numerous church's, and was an active member of Hulen Baptist Church. Survivors: Wife, Dorothy Elkin; daughters, Carol Hoelsher and husband Wayne, and June Jeffers and husband Scott; son, Russell Elkins, III and his wife Jinny; 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and extended family.
