Obituary

Sammy Louis Anderson, son of Maudrane Anderson-Blaney, was born on Monday, March 25, 1964, in Louisville, Kentucky. He departed this life on Saturday March 15, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Sammy, professionally and affectionately known as "Shake," was married to Karen Leah Anderson on July 22, 2006, in Louisville, Kentucky.  They later moved to Fort Worth, Texas where Shake continued his diverse professional music career. Through their marriage they have one son, Samiel Miraca, affectionately known as Bubby.

Our beloved Shake was a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, producer, and actor. He started recording and touring at the age of nine. He collaborated on gold and platinum movie soundtracks for big screen features receiving credit for his work. He has performed on the stages of many great music venues around the world. Shake was also nominated for several Grammy and Dove awards.

Shake leaves to cherish his memory: His loving wife of 19 years, Karen Leah Anderson, and their son Samiel Miraca (Bubby); daughters Darion Castle, Chanell Williams and Kierra Smith; sisters Mona McDonald and Vanessa Spotts; brothers Admiral Blaney, Garry Spotts, Gregory Spotts and Frederick Blaney (brother deceased); a host of precious grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and great friends.

Shake was a very caring person who loved God, and did not hesitate to put others before himself. He encouraged all of us to reach for our dreams, and push past inhibitions. He coached, inspired, and provided every opportunity that he could to help others succeed in their musical and personal endeavors. Shake's outgoing personality would almost instantly put others at ease. He will be dearly remembered for his kind heart and deep musical passion.
