Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 at Great Commission Church, 7700 McCart Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76133. Interment: 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. The Life Story Of SMSGT Curtis Leon Hunter, Jr. Curtis Leon Hunter, Jr. was born Saturday, June 16, 1945 to the parentage of Curtis L. Hunter, Sr. and Helen Goss Hunter in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended James E. Guinn Elementary and Junior High School and the historic I. M. Terrell High School, and was a graduate of the class of 1963. He also attended Sophia University, Tokyo, Japan and University of Maryland. Curtis joined the U.S. Air Force in 1965 from which he retired after 26 years of service as Senior Master Sargent. He resided in Tokyo, Japan. His hobbies were taking pictures, listening to music and learning new things about computers. It was on Thursday, August 12, 2021, that Curtis exchanged life for eternity. He was preceded in death by his wife, Chie, his father, Curtis L. Hunter, Sr. , his mother, Helen Goss Hunter, his sister, Carolyn Hunter Horne, and his brothers: Donald, Lonnie, Artie, Anthony, Bernard, Alvin, and Michael Hunter. Those who are left to cherish his memory are: daughter, Theresa Hunter; children he raised as his own, Daiki Yamashita and Itsuki Watanabe; grandchildren, Vanessa King, Heigo and Inori Watanabe, and Ran Yamashita; sister, Beverly Hunter Walker (Jonathan); brother, Kenneth Hunter; and a host of other relatives and friends.
