It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Joseph Sabourin. He departed this world peacefully on September 28, 2026 surrounded by family and friends.

Tom was born April 3, 1953 in Minneapolis Minnesota, to Lawrence Sabourin and Cecilia Scheming. He was the little brother to Joan Ulyatt. His life was a testament to kindness and hard work.

Tom was a man who wore many hats throughout his life. He began his career as a mechanic in Minnesota where his love for cars was evident to all who knew him. His career took a fulfilling turn when he became a city bus driver and later dispatcher for the Minnesota Metro Transit Company. Although he briefly attempted retirement, his restless spirit and love for people led him to a position with FedEx where he made many new friends.

Throughout his life, Tom’s passions were simple. He loved his cars, his dogs, his grandchildren and wrestling. His true joy though came from connecting with others over a little “B.S.” , car advice or a stupid joke.

Tom leaves behind Dee Sabourin, his wife of 39 years, his daughters Christy Crawford Mullen and Jennifer Rydell. His grandchildren Amelia and Preston Crawford, Price Mullen, and Holden and Sawyer Rydell. He will also be missed by his sister Joan Ulyatt and countless friends in both Minnesota and Texas.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2026, at Martin Thompson & Son Chapel, 6009 Wedgwood Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76133.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all who visited Tom in the hospital and showed him true friendship over the years. Your kind words and support have meant the world to us.
