Obituary

“Mr. Tony”, Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, whatever you called him was one of a kind! They just don’t make ‘em like they used to. He was a special make and model like a rock…a born salesman who never met a stranger. Antonio Vincente Zamora “Tony” went home to be with the love of his life Donna Jean Zamora, wife of 71 years and mother of “Cente”, Lynne and Trina. Tony was loved by everyone who knew him. He came from humble beginnings in Texarkana Tx where he attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, played football and eloped with his Donna. They met at age 16 and 17 and began their family. He said his greatest time with Donna was when they had nothing and opened cans of food for dinner. It was the two of them and many thought it wouldn’t last as they were just “too young” as the Nat King Cole song goes. Tony played professional baseball for Shreveport Sports Texas League as catcher and center fielder. He worked at General Motors as a Materials Supervisor and Plant Manager before retiring after 33 years. He then got hired by Graff Chevrolet in Grand Prairie selling cars. He loved helping people and they loved him too! His customers would bring him homemade treats and whole families bought cars from him. GM recognized him for selling more than 250 brand new Chevrolets in not just one year but multiple years which is unheard of even today.

Tony Zamora is preceded in death by son “Cente” and survived by two daughters Lynne Marie of Granbury Tx and Trina D’ann of Arlington Tx. Grandchildren: Melanie Pulscher of Springfield Mo, Heather Diamond, husband Shawn of Granbury Tx, Vince Tourville and his wife Lauren Tourville, Lauren Bristol, Brighton Bristol; Great Grandchildren: Jordan, DeeAnna, Dylan, Donna, Dawn, Chaz, Chloe, Catelyn, Laylah-V, Vicente, Nephew; Phillip Medellin Jr. and wife Polly of San Antonio Tx.
