William Eugene Whiteside, Sr, passed away at age 86 on July 10, 2022. He will be laid to rest at Dresden Cemetery in Barry, Texas.

Gene was born to Carl and Margie Whiteside and grew up in Corsicana Texas with his brother Ray. It was there in high school that he met Betty Sue Gutshall, his wife of 61 years. They later moved to Fort Worth where they raised their family. Gene worked at the Fort Worth National Bank where he retired as a Vice President in 1987. Gene and Betty spent their later years in Burleson building their retirement home and spending time with their grandchildren. Following Betty's passing in 2017, Gene lived with his son, Bill and daughter-in-law, Nicole in their Fort Worth home.

He will be held in loving memory by his children Dari Price, Bill Whiteside and wife Nicole; grandchildren Justin Price, Christopher Price and wife Lindsay, Hayden Whiteside, and Mallory Whiteside; great-grandchildren Jaedynn and Wyatt Price; sister-in-law Helen Lou Wilson and husband, Kenneth along with their children Allen and Jennifer, and lifelong friend George Brooks.

The family would like to thank friends and family for their incredible support through this difficult time. They would also like to thank Good Shepherd Hospice for support and care provided in his last days.
